Cold Pressed rapeseed oil
in 2023 we entered the great taste awards and we were delighted to be awarded a 2 star award for our welsh cold pressed rapeseed oil!
in 2023 the awards had 14,195 world wide entries. a panel of 500 top chefs, food critics, food buyers and food writers blind taste all entries with just a few tasting notes. no branding or back storey to influence them, just the taste.
of all the enteries, just 11% (1568) received a 2 star award so we are really proud with this achievment. here is some of the feedback from the judges

This is vibrant but pale (for rapeseed oil) in colour. It has a mild nuttiness in aroma but there is a fabulous punch of nut in the flavour. It's very delicate, with a gentle grassiness carrying the nut and buttery consistency. Very clean and fresh, this is a lovely and versatile rapeseed oil.

A gloriously light oil, with a very gentle aroma. It has a clean and fresh initial hit on the nose, without being overpowering. We liked the gentleness. In the mouth it is not greasy or claggy, and delivers a very long flavour profile that's not always associated with rapeseed oil. The creaminess and hints of late summer, stubble fields and changing seasons, appealed to us very much.

Cold pressed sunflower oil
oUR WELSH COLD PRESSED SUNFLOWER OIL DID EVEN BETTER! WE RECIVED THE HIGHEST AWARD OF 3 STARS WHICH IS INCREDIBLE. WE ARE THE ONLY UK PRODUCERS OF COLD PRESSED SUNFLOWER OIL, AND THE JUDGES HAD NEVER TASTED ANYTHING LIKE IT. ONLY 1.8% (248) ENTRIES RECIVE THE TOP ACCOLADE OF 3 STARS, SO THIS TELLS US IT REALLY IS DELICIOUS.

The colour of your cold-pressed sunflower oil is truly stunning, golden yellow with hints of silver. The mouthfeel is perfectly smooth and coats the palate so very well. And, when tasting, we are treated to slow-release yet precise bursts of sunflower seeds, along with flavours of cashew nut, butter, warm grasses and clear notes of sunflower.

This is a crystal clear, pale lemon-coloured oil. There is little on the nose, as we expected. However, on tasting it opens up on the tongue and tastes beautifully of sunflower seeds, and is buttery and creamy as promised. It would make a gorgeous marinade, or delicious drizzled over the first asparagus or, as also suggested, over new potatoes. It could be used to dress fish or anything. We have never had a sunflower oil as good as this. It is exceptional!

OUT OF 14,195 DELICIUOS ENTRIES, OUR OIL HAS BEEN PLACED IN THE TOP 30 WORLD WIDE! AND WE WERE IN THE TOP 3 FOR WALES.
